Precautions for Using Reefer Containers

When using a refrigerated container, it's important to pay attention to proper operating procedures, reasonable temperature settings, and timely cleaning and maintenance—these measures ensure smooth operation and the safe transportation of goods. Here are some key precautions for using refrigerated containers:

(1) Before using a refrigerated container, inspect its exterior, interior, refrigeration unit, data logger, and other components to ensure they are intact and undamaged. If any damage or malfunction is found, repair or replace the affected parts promptly. When connecting the refrigerated container to a power source or diesel generator, verify that the voltage and frequency meet the required specifications. If necessary, use a transformer or voltage regulator.

(2) When setting parameters such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation for refrigerated containers, select the appropriate mode and functions based on the type and requirements of the cargo, avoiding both overcooling and overheating. For transporting fresh fruits, vegetables, and other perishables, promptly open the fresh-air vents to ensure proper ventilation; however, when shipping frozen goods, the fresh-air vents should remain closed. When transporting refrigerated goods packed in cardboard boxes, ensure timely ventilation based on outdoor temperature and humidity conditions, keeping the air inside the boxes dry to prevent condensation from forming on the outer surfaces of the packaging.

(3) During the packing process, strictly follow the cargo stacking guidelines, ensuring even distribution of goods and leaving sufficient space for air circulation. Avoid blocking refrigeration units and vents, as this could reduce the cooling capacity of the refrigeration equipment.

(4) When monitoring the operation of refrigerated containers, regularly check the display of the data logger and promptly address or report any abnormalities.

(5) When卸载货物, ensure that the power supply or diesel generator is turned off, disconnect the connecting cables, and store them properly. Also, promptly inspect the original quality of refrigerated or frozen goods and clearly document any observations on the delivery note.

(6) When cleaning and disinfecting refrigerated containers, ensure the use of appropriate detergents and disinfectants, and allow thorough drying afterward.
